Pekka Kääriäinen from Finland will be at the festival to do a talk on sahti. Pekka founded the first commercial Finnish sahti brewery in 1985, Lammin Sahti , and still runs it today. He also founded the Finnish sahti brewers’ association, which works to promote sahti brewing and organizes the annual sahti brewing competition. He was also the driving force behind getting sahti registered as a protected speciality in the EU.

Pekka will be talking about how to make malts for sahti, how to brew sahti, the history of sahti, and its situation today.
