Lecture: Atle Ove Martinussen on the UNESCO application

Atle Ove Martinussen (left), on yeast hunting at Selland farm, Voss.

Atle Ove is CEO of Vestnorsk Kulturakademi , which is working on an application to UNESCO to get Norwegian traditional brewing listed on UNESCO’s list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

Atle Ove will talk about the application, but also about why it’s important to preserve the brewing tradition in Western Norway, and how this can be done. And not least, how the tradition can lead to both innovation and value creation, especially within tourism, and how this depends on recruiting more young brewers.

There will also be information about the results from the UNESCO application preliminary project, about collecting old yeast samples, and the content of the research project that is about to start.

We’re very much looking forward to this!
