Talk by Sissel Brunstad

Sissel Brunstad will be giving a talk at 1500 during the festival, in Norwegian.

Kornøl through the ages - about brewing beer the old-fashioned way.

Sissel is from Sykkylven in Sunnmøre, and is a journalist, non-fiction author, and particularly interested in cultural history. In her latest book “Norsk ølhistorie – frå Odins skål til i dag ”, published in December 2019, the Norwegian beer history is gathered between two covers for the first time. Brunstad has dug into old sources and spoken with brewers throughout the country who still brew in the traditional way. She has grown up and lives in a core area for the kornøl tradition, and focuses on the extensive process of brewing in the traditional manner. Come hear her tell the story and be inspired by the knowledge, patience, craftsmanship, and pride in the beer heritage that traditional brewers have carried forward through the ages, right up to our own time.
