Ringnes Brygghus

The same spot at Grünerløkka where Ringnes brewed their first beer in 1877 is now home to Ringnes Brygghus. With both a microbrewery and a pub, Ringnes Brygghus is the place to meet regardless of your experience and knowledge of beer.

In the spirit of the founding fathers of Ringnes, the beer is brewed with scientific curiosity using both top- and bottom-fermenting yeasts, and kveik! As passionate homebrewers through many years, the brewers at Ringnes Brygghus, Øyvind Langgård and Lars Folven, collected and used kveik. With the help of their friends at Carlsberg Research Laboratory, the kveiks have been explored scientifically and some of the properties of their favorite kveik have been mapped. The kveik is now used at Ringnes Brygghus.
