Homebrewer: Arve Espe

Arve Espe and his wife at the festival in 2018.

Arve Espe comes from the farm Espe in Hornindal. He was the youngest of 10 children, so he learned to brew from his older brothers. His beer is a fairly traditional kornøl, fermented with his own kveik, #20 Espe , which he inherited from his father. He used to brew almost only raw ale, but after he bought an automatic brewing machine he started boiling the wort for 30 minutes. The beer is still quite traditional, however.
